I joined Broad Street Kickboxing in the summer of 2023, marking my first venture into martial arts. At the time, I didn’t know what to expect, but looking back, joining this gym was one of the best decisions I’ve made in the last five years. What sets this gym apart is its strong sense of community. Whether you’re a complete beginner or more advanced, you’ll feel welcomed here. For those with more experience, there are always opportunities to find equally skilled partners and work together. The variety of classes is excellent, allowing you to progress across different disciplines, which keeps things fresh and exciting. Each coach brings a unique teaching style, ensuring that routines don’t get monotonous. Additionally, the gym occasionally hosts seminars with invited professionals, providing a chance to learn from experienced fighters. Sparring opportunities are abundant, and I've never felt unsafe with a partner—everyone communicates and adjusts based on their skill level. Sparring with the coaches is particularly valuable, as they gradually increase the intensity to help you progress without feeling overwhelmed. I feel that anyone could benefit from this environment. The gym has so much potential, and there are endless opportunities for it to grow and become even bigger than it is now. Lastly, I want to say thank you to all the amazing people I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year. I’m sorry I have to leave, but I hope to be back soon.
